In a recent episode of Jay Leno Garage, Jay Leno delved into the world of truck campers and had the opportunity to review the EarthRoamer LTi. Known as the pinnacle of luxury and high-performance overland rigs, EarthRoamer is renowned for producing top-of-the-line heavy-duty pickup conversions equipped with advanced off-the-grid survival technology, often exceeding a staggering $1 million in price.
The EarthRoamer LTi, introduced a few years ago, stands as the ultimate embodiment of EarthRoamer’s legacy, established by its late founder and CEO, Bill Swails. Aptly dubbed the most advanced EarthRoamer XV model ever built, the LTi showcases a fully self-contained expedition vehicle with a carbon fiber body.
What sets the LTi apart is its carbon-fiber vacuum-infused camper body, a feature that leaves Jay Leno thoroughly impressed. Leno rightly points out that this material choice not only reduces the vehicle’s weight but also makes it stronger than if it were constructed with aluminum. The Vacuum Infusion Process (VIP) employed in its production renders the LTi with the most robust camper body available on the market.
While EarthRoamer takes care of the camper, it is important to note that they don’t manufacture the base truck itself. In this case, they start with a Ford F-550 Lariat, a model that already boasts comfortable leather seats. However, EarthRoamer takes it a step further by converting the rear into two captain’s chairs and providing a pass-through from the cab directly to the living quarters.
Powering the LTi is a 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 diesel engine, delivering 330 horsepower. Although the power output might not seem overly impressive, the massive 750 pound-feet of torque ensures a tow rating exceeding 10,000 pounds. Furthermore, the engine’s fuel efficiency, coupled with a substantial 95-gallon tank, allows the EarthRoamer to roam the roads for over 1000 miles.
To enhance its self-sufficiency, the LTi accommodates 100 gallons of fresh water and 40 gallons of grey water. Additionally, it boasts a 12,000 watt-hour battery and substantial solar panels installed on the roof.
Now, let’s talk about the price tag. It’s clear that the EarthRoamer LTi is far from an affordable camper. Retailing at an MSRP of $695,000, it firmly establishes itself as a serious contender in the overland vehicle market. However, as mentioned earlier, EarthRoamer specializes in crafting some of the most advanced and luxurious offerings within this segment.

The exterior storage units feature a beer opener, which garners a chuckle from Leno, but what really catches his attention is the inclusion of an outdoor meat smoker. Despite its rugged army green exterior, the interior of the LTi exudes elegance and sophistication.
