Joy in Chaos: A Mother’s Happiness with Identical Triplet Girls and 5-Year-Old Son’s Coordinated Outfits

Life with five-month-old triplet girls and an almost five-year-old son in one word: “organized chaos.” Pennsylvania mom, Karae Coursey, who is a twin herself, had a hunch she was having twins when she felt more nauseated and tired during her second pregnancy with her son, Kanon. An ultrasound technician confirmed her suspicion, but then a doctor revealed she was actually pregnant with triplets. The news shocked her family, who were already excited about the twins.

Karae welcomed her identical triplet girls – Bailey, Beau, and Brook – five months ago and started sharing their photos, often in coordinated outfits, on Instagram through her blog called “Truly Triplets.” Connecting with her more than 6,000 followers has been both helpful and fun for her. She has found other triplet and multiple parents on social media, and the responses to her triplets have been amazing.

Her almost five-year-old son, Kanon, adores his little sisters and takes his big brother role seriously. He loves being affectionate towards them, wants to help, and already thinks he knows what they are saying.

Growing up with a twin, Karae wore coordinated outfits with her sibling throughout her childhood. Now, her girls look more than happy to wear matching onesies in many of the photos she posts on Instagram.

As a parent of multiples, Karae has plenty of advice for other moms and dads. She encourages them to accept help from family during this overwhelming time and make an effort to get out of the house occasionally. For moms struggling with breastfeeding, she recommends not being too hard on themselves and suggests finding alternatives like formula if necessary.

Karae also suggests having a mini fridge and bottle warmer in the nursery to ease the constant back and forth between the kitchen and kids. Her best advice is simple: “It gets easier.” She encourages everyone to hang in there and enjoy the journey.
