Father’s Photoshop Magic: A Gallery of Unforgettable Photos for His Son

Every parent wants to capture the most remarkable and memorable moments of their child’s life, but what Adrian Sommeling, a 48-year-old photographer from Amsterdam, has created for his son can only be described as extraordinary. With his mastery of Photoshop, Adrian has crafted a collection of images that are nothing short of mesmerizing.

Adrian Sommeling, a seasoned professional photographer with over five years of experience, discovered his true passion lay in the art of collage. And his most cherished muse? None other than his 8-year-old son, Nic.

From transforming Nic into a fearless “warrior” launching colossal bullets, to placing him nonchalantly on the wing of an airplane alongside friends, or suspending the young boy mid-air in a gravity-defying pose—Adrian’s creations are unlike anything you’ve ever seen. His Instagram account boasts 27,500 followers, while his Facebook page boasts more than 103,000 fans. He’s earned the title of the “god of Photoshop” for crafting these astonishing, cartoon-like images that he creates exclusively for himself and Nic, despite the months of effort it takes to meticulously draw the landscapes and create the models that bring these captivating images to life.

The sensation of sitting on the wing of an airplane, observing the world from above, is an experience unlike any other.

Adrian shared his creative process, saying, “I don’t need to plan every detail of the image because every aspect is already in my mind. I simply place Nic into the scene as appropriate. Currently, I’m working on different models to provide my son with even more stunning pictures.”

He attributes much of his artistic inspiration to his mother, who is an artist herself. Adrian reflected, “My mother is an artist, and from a young age, I used to sit beside her, watching her paint photorealistic pictures. This exposure to her world of realistic artistry has been one of the greatest influences on my ability to create unique images like the ones I’m crafting now. I’ve been attuned to the play of light and shadow since childhood.”

Other artists have expressed admiration for Adrian’s work, with particular fondness for the image of Nic getting his arm “stuck” in the Paris subway. But for Adrian, his personal favorite is the image of Nic perched on a bicycle with a flaming wheel. He explained, “This piece was created as a self-portrait overlaid onto an old painting in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.”

Adrian’s creative process can be quite diverse. He often holds ideas in his mind for months, patiently waiting for the perfect backdrop to appear. Once he finds that ideal setting, he can craft an entire image in just one day, from modeling the photo in his studio to the final processing.+

Let’s marvel at the unique collection of images that Adrian has thoughtfully created for Nic, a gallery that showcases not only his technical prowess but also his unwavering love for his son.
