An Alternative Approach: A Musical Adaptation?

Even if a direct sequel seems unlikely, that doesn’t mean Pretty Woman is entirely off the table for a reboot. One potential avenue is adapting Pretty Woman: The Musical (which debuted in 2018) into a feature film, much like the approach taken with Mean Girls (2024). If Gere and Roberts remain uninterested in reprising their roles, a musical adaptation could serve as a fresh way to reintroduce the story to new audiences while preserving the essence of the beloved classic.
