The journey took Yahya to Australia, where a series of comprehensive tests, including CT scans and MRI scans, were conducted to devise the optimal surgical approach. Originally estimated to take around eight hours, the surgery turned into an intense procedure lasting over 18 hours. During the operation, Yahya lost nearly half of his blood and had a protective membrane covering his brain.
