One of the adopted individuals, Michael, now 27 years old, vividly remembers how Thomas’ home became his haven after being taken in as the third child. Thomas made it a point to know each child’s biological parents, forming a bond that extended beyond bloodlines.
Michael recalls that Thomas never left his children alone. Their separation only came when they grew up and started their own families. In a home led by a single parent, equality and love were the guiding principles. Raising children, according to Michael, was a calling from a higher power.

Even though they’ve become adults and moved on with their lives, they remain connected by the deep-rooted love Thomas instilled in them.
Michael chuckles, saying, “We’re all adults now. I can’t believe he started all over again.” Thomas’ support and care played a significant role in shaping Michael’s life, providing him with the strength he needed to overcome challenges.
At one point, Thomas felt that it was time to step back. One of his older children had left home to start their own family. Despite the fact that the family already included seven other children, Thomas felt a void. Learning that five siblings were in search of a family, he decided to step out of his retirement and embrace them.
Thomas’ past experience in raising these children gave him a unique perspective. He opposed the idea of splitting the siblings into different households, as he had previously raised their father. However, circumstances led the four siblings to live in different cities, separated for more than 1.5 years.
Despite the challenges and obstacles that life has presented, Thomas continues to open his heart and home to those in need. His remarkable journey of nurturing, raising, and adopting children is a testament to the power of love and compassion. As he expands his family once again, he reminds us that a heart of gold can create a home filled with love, care, and unbreakable bonds.
