The birth unfolded so quickly that the birth team couldn’t reach the scene in time, making this shared experience even more profound.
Describing the experience as one of the most incredible moments of her career, Robin shared that the couple was no stranger to home birthing, having welcomed their first child in the comfort of their own home two years prior to the twins’ arrival.
As contractions surged and the birth progressed swiftly, Robin juggled capturing precious moments on camera while assisting the couple in creating a nurturing birth environment. The birth space was prepared with care, allowing the mother to transition into the tub and begin pushing in a serene setting.
The twins’ father played a pivotal role, catching one of the twins in his hands while still en-caul, meaning the baby was covered by the amniotic sac. This remarkable moment, depicted in an award-winning photograph, symbolizes the beauty and strength of birth.
The birthing process showcased the couple’s calmness and connectedness. The mother gracefully removed the sac and the father gently released the Nuchal cord before handing their baby boy to her.
