“NASA’s Plans for Lunar Settlement in the Next 10 Years”

According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), humans will be able to live and work on the Moon within the next 10 years. This has sparked curiosity among the public about how we will establish settlements on the lunar surface.

NASA’s announcement that humans will be able to live and work on the Moon within the next decade has led many to believe that this long-awaited goal will soon become a reality.

Recent research has also revealed that tiny glass beads in the lunar soil hold the potential for storing water. The amount of water on the Moon could reach up to 297.6 billion metric tons.

According to researchers, this newfound discovery is highly beneficial for supporting exploration missions and constructing lunar bases. If this vast water resource can be tapped into, scientists can come closer to their goal of establishing human settlements on the Moon.

If humans are to live on the Moon, choosing a suitable location for lunar settlements is crucial. Experts suggest that the most likely area for human habitation is near the lunar poles, where sunlight is almost perpetually present.

Furthermore, the temperature variations between the lunar poles are much less severe compared to the equatorial regions. After selecting a location, scientists will analyze and evaluate how to construct human habitats.

Experts have proposed three options: building underground settlements within lava tubes beneath the lunar surface, constructing habitats on the lunar surface, or creating a mixed-use settlement that combines both underground and surface structures.

In terms of construction materials for lunar homes, experts plan to utilize 3D printing technology. The process of building homes on the Moon will require significant time, manpower, and financial resources.

During the initial phase of living on the Moon, humans will need to rely on food supplies from Earth. However, in the future, we aim to transition to hydroponics and artificial food production.

The concept of establishing lunar settlements has captured public interest, but the implementation will not be easy. Therefore, experts and scientists will need to conduct extensive research and make thorough preparations for human habitation on the Moon in the future.
