Tiffany Wienke, a fearless female hunter, achieved an extraordinary feat by capturing a record-breaking 13-foot alligator in the Mississippi River. Despite having limited alligator hunting experience, Tiffany successfully wrangled this enormous reptile, weighing a staggering 311 kilograms (49 stone), during a Saturday night excursion.

Accompanied by a dedicated team of six individuals who tirelessly scoured the waters for 20 grueling hours, Tiffany’s group encountered the colossal alligator at Bayou Pierre. Measuring an impressive 13 feet and 7/8 inches, this remarkable specimen surpassed the previous record by a mere one-eighth of an inch.

Reflecting on the intense encounter, Tiffany shared her gripping experience with MS News Now, stating, “He ran us – literally crashed us into some trees, and bank-to-bank. He was pulling this boat full of people like it was nothing.” She described the meticulous positioning required to fit the alligator in the boat, with its head curled up in one corner and its tail stretching across to the opposite side, resting on the deck.

While acknowledging the significance of their achievement, Tiffany expressed contentment, saying, “We’re completely satisfied knowing that this will likely be the largest alligator we’ll ever catch.” The Mississippi Department of Fisheries and Parks applauded the hunters’ success and encouraged further exploration of the waters for more alligator encounters, despite the exceptional record-breaking find.

In an official statement, the department declared, “New record length male alligator on public waters taken by the hunting party of Tiffany Wienke from Vicksburg, MS. It beat the previous record by just 1/8. The alligator measures 13′ 7 7/8″ and weighed 686 lbs with a belly girth of 59″ and tail girth of 43″. It was taken from Bayou Pierre in the SW Zone.”
